Episode 313: A New…OPE!

Chris and Garret sit down to discuss a busy week for the Bundesliga and Eintracht Frankfurt. Both the mens and womens teams were in action, with strikingly different results.

The Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen went into Hoffenheim and took care of business with a 1:3 lashing of the hosts. Laura Freigang returned from injury. There will be a good amount of roster turnover this summer, but that might be for the better. Eintracht Frankfurt signed Nina Lührßen to a deal through 2027. She is a product of Werder Bremen who brings 100 matches of Bundesliga experience.

The mens side faced off against still-unbeaten Leverkusen. Hugo Ekitike continued his strong play, netting his 3rd goal in as many games. Omar Marmoush had a chance to put Eintracht ahead in the 41st minute, but put the ball well above the goal. Just 100 seconds later Leverkusen scored and never looked back.

Borussia Dortmund is headed to the UEFA Champions League final. If Dortmund finishes 5th in the Bundesliga and wins the Champions League Final over Real Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt will claim a Champions League spot for next season.
